SLOW DANCE from book The 4 Hour Workweek

Forwarding you “SLOW DANCE” poem from book The_4_Hour_Workweek. Hope you will like it. 🙂

If you’re confused about life, you’re not alone. There are almost seven

billion of us. This isn’t a problem, of course, once you realize that life is

neither a problem to be solved nor a game to be won.

If you are too intent on making the pieces of a nonexistent puzzle fit,

you miss out on all the real fun. The heaviness of success-chasing can be

replaced with a serendipitous lightness when you recognize that the only

rules and limits are those we set for ourselves.

So be bold and don’t worry about what people think. They don’t

do it that often anyway.

Two years ago, I received an e-mail from a terminally ill girl in a

New York hospital. I have reread one portion of her letter many

times since and I hope you will do the same.

Here it is.

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

Whenyou ash How are you? Do

you hear the reply?

When the day is done,

do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You’d better slow down.

Don’t dance so fast.

The Last Chapter 285

Time is short.

The music won’t last.

Ever toldyour child,

We’ll do it tomorrow?

And inyour haste, Not

see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say, “Hi”?

You’d better slow down.

Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won’t last.

Whenyou run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

Whenyou worry and hurry throughyour day,

It is like an unopened gift thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower.

Hear the music Before

the song is over.
